3 EVENTS-2 DAYS!!! This is a great opportunity to participate in the publishing processing, see an academic manuscript as it is being formed and to become a reviewer for an academic manuscript and you can put this on your CV!!! You can even get feedback on your own materials for publishing!!
Thursday afternoon, February 21st (3:00 pm - 4:45 pm)
Dr. Rashad Shabazz, Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Vermont will speak about his book manuscript with a focus on methodology, theoretical frames, and the productive capacities of writing. Through this lecture he will help demystify the academic writing and publishing process.
Friday morning, February 22nd (10:00 am- 12:30 pm) (RSVP REQUIRED, space is limited)
Join Dr. Shabazz in reviewing his work in progress which examines how Black identity, culture and anti-Black racism are produced and disciplined through spatiality. You are invited to submit your student work in progress for review and workshopping with Dr. Shabazz. Submissions can be conference papers, proposals, class papers that students want to develop into publishing quality pieces. Five student works will be chosen.
