GSS alum (Ph.D. 2014) Emily Eisenhauer was just awarded a Science and Technology Policy Fellowship with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). She'll be working in Washington, D.C. with the Environmental Protection Agency in the Sustainable and Healthy Communities research program beginning September 2015. Her application and supporting letters stressed her work with FIU's Research Institute for Social and Economic Policy and Gail Hollander's NSF ULTRA-Ex grant, her dissertation research and her postgrad work in Miami on the intertwined issues of sea level rise and affordable housing. These are very competitive fellowships, which require not only submitting an application packet but also acing a succession of interviews.
