Florida International University-based Observatory of Justice for Afrodescendants in Latin America (OJALA) has received the funding for a Ph.D. student in anthropology to serve as research assistant. In addition to pursuing a doctoral degree in Global & Sociocultural Studies (Major Anthropology) at FIU, the person selected will be a Research Assistant for OJALA for 20 hours/week as well as a full time Ph.D. student in the department. A monthly stipend and full tuition waiver is guaranteed for three years. It is our hope that the person selected will decide to conduct doctoral research and write a doctoral dissertation with a focus falling within the field of inquiry that combines anthropology and the law and that fits with OJALA's objectives.
