Alexander Huezo, PhD

I spent ten years working as an educator before pursuing graduate studies with the intention of conducting research and teaching at the university level. During MA studies at UCLA, I cultivated an interest in the history of palm oil production in Latin America, which eventually led me to study the effects of forcible displacement in Colombia. During PhD studies at FIU my interests have shifted from the effects of forcible displacement in Colombia to some of its causes. More specifically, I am interested in how my US tax dollars have contributed to a War on Drugs waged on foreign soil.

Dr. Huezo graduated from the GSS program in Summer of 2017.
