Her research interests include women’s politicization and minority struggles in Turkey and the broader Middle Eastern region. She is particularly interested in the intersections of gender, ethnicity, nationalism, and religion. Her dissertation research investigates the rise of women’s political consciousness among the Arab Alawite community in Antakya, Turkey. Based on archival and ethnographic research, she uses feminist geopolitical and feminist postcolonial lenses to make sense of the data she collected between 2014-2016.
