Globalization, Transnational Migration, Ethnicity
Originally from the arid foothills of the Los Angeles basin, I received a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.A. in Cultural Anthropology, Philosophy, and Reflexive Social Psychology from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (University of Munich) in Germany. I am interested in ethnic commodities and niche economies in the context of transnational migration and globalization, and more generally in popular culture, consumption, identities, and ideologies.
