Jocelyn Moylan is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Global and Sociocultural Studies. Her academic interests include the concept of home and the feeling of belonging for immigrant populations in the city of Miami. She is interested specifically in the significance of transnational ties and other connections (real or imagined) which immigrants may maintain with their previous homes. Moylan’s future research will interrogate the weight such connections have in immigrants’ perception and experience of Miami as home, taking into account the city’s singularity among other US urban centers.
