I am a Sociology-track PhD candidate. My dissertation focuses on the impact of popular music on the political landscape of Puerto Rico post-Hurricane Maria. I specifically am interested in the ways in which musicians have helped construct and deconstruct notions of nationalism in Puerto Rico as Puerto Ricans recovery from political and ecological upheaval.

Prior to joining the program as a PhD student, I participated in a GIS internship for the City of Weston in which I helped the lead GIS project manager in maintaining maps for the city as well created maps for different municipal departments to use for everyday work.
