Rayna Rusenko

Rayna Rusenko has over a decade of advocacy and research experience pertaining to social welfare, labor, housing, and homelessness policy through her work as an activist with homeless communities in Tokyo, Japan and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She holds a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Malaya and is currently a PhD student in global and sociocultural studies, specializing in sociology. Her research centers on the inter-relationship between socioeconomic inequality, prejudice, and public policy—as well as the historical role these have played in shaping and propagating homelessness globally. She is also interested in social justice movements and civic channels for shaping policy at all levels of government.
