Bio:
Ana is a doctoral candidate in the Global & Sociocultural Studies program with a track in anthropology. Her research focuses on Indigenous digital activism. This interest developed from her preliminary research with Indigenous communities in Brazil, where she observed innovative adaptations of traditional practices through digital platforms. Through ethnographic fieldwork and digital ethnography, Ana examines how Indigenous communities living in urban contexts utilize digital tools to advance their cultural activism efforts and support the Indigenous resurgence movement. Her work contributes to broader discussions on indigeneity, urban anthropology, and the impact of digital technologies on cultural practices and social movements. Before entering the doctoral program, Ana earned her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology at FIU, providing a solid foundation for her current research interests.
