Bio:
Kimberly Gilchrist-Wynter was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She attended Florida State University where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. Not long after, she earned a master’s degree in Latin American, Latino, and Caribbean Studies from the University of South Florida. Throughout her professional career, she has worked at several institutions of higher education within the counties of Miami-Dade and Broward. Currently, she is a GSS PhD candidate under the Socio-Cultural Anthropology track. Her dissertation concerns dancehall culture, skin bleaching, and national identity in Jamaica.
