Bio:
I am a doctoral student exploring the intersection of feminist political geography and public health. My work examines how extreme heat in urban heat islands (UHIs) disproportionately impacts marginalized communities, embedding social inequalities within physical and mental health. By combining participatory methodologies with biological indicators, I investigate how intersecting factors—such as race, gender, and class—intensify vulnerability to heat, especially in historically segregated neighborhoods in Miami (FL). My research aims to bridge disciplinary gaps to inform equitable interventions that address the health disparities shaped by environmental stressors.
